A small pastry shop, beside the castle church, once created the most delicious last meals in the Duchy of Mecklenburg. The condemned usually requested ‘cannonballs’, puff pastry pockets filled with turkey, apples and onions. Or else, ‘sweet coup de grâce’, fresh apple doughnuts and sugar swirls with raisins. Circular delicacies for delinquents, formed on magnificent wooden baking boards. Three live on in ISNY.

LAST MEAL 1856:
Historic wooden baking boards from a confectionary specializing in “sweet coup de grâce“. Brushed and oiled.
RAW STEEL 1,200°:
Untreated black steel, rolled at 1,200°C. Perfectly welded, polished and deburred.
ISNY is an invitation to the creative, the artistic, the experienced and beloved, to curate a courageous stage. Three wooden levels bathed and brushed, were once the baking boards of a famous pastry shop. One might recognize pine in the texture of the wood, enchantingly patinaed by countless oven inserts. Each shelf rests peacefully within an earthbound frame of perfectly welded and polished square steel. Freestanding, room-dividing or against the wall; fascinating practical art for freethinkers. Even today it seems subtly scented of delicacies.
