When flora and fauna were at rest, it was timber harvesting time. For more than two hundred and thirty winters, powerful packhorses pulled mighty trunks from the woods of the forest-owning dynasty. A gentle tug on the reins, a tender click of the tongue were all that was needed. Already these cold-blooded beasts of burden would be juggling their cargo through the icy thicket to the cutting site, unbelievably graceful and precise to the centimeter. A pulley from this age-old form of transportation sits at the heart of LICHTENFELS.
